A. When you are at the checkout counter and they say, “Debit or Credit?” Always say, “Credit” yes always say, “Credit”. Even though it is a DEBIT card by saying, “Credit” the transaction will go through and you will not have to pay the $0.95 transaction fee.
B. Some checkout clerks may be pushy and ask you for your pin number. Just say, “I don’t know it, please process by purchase as a Credit transaction ”.
C. Some checkout counters have you swipe your own card through the terminal reader select CREDIT. The machine will than say “Enter your Pin or Cancel”. Hit Cancel it doesn’t cancel the transaction (This is a psychological trick to get you to enter your PIN.) it processes the transaction without the $1.00 Pin Fee.
A. Sign up for Bank Freedom’s FREE email and text alerts. Your cell phone or email will always have your balance on it so you don’t need to make a balance inquiry or get declined because you know your balance.
B. SMS Text: 42265 BAL to receive a text message with your card account balance.
C. Use your cell phone or find a payphone and call the Toll Free number on the back of your card and you get your balance for free 24 hours a day seven days a week.
D. Access the cardholder website online to find out your balance and transaction history. It’s always there and just a click away.

4. How To Avoid Monthly Fees:
A. Have your Employer or benefits provider direct deposit $350 a month or more to your card account and there is no monthly fee.
B. Cash cost us more to monitor so every month you deposit $700 a month in cash we will waive your monthly fee.
C. If you don’t fall into one of those categories the monthly maintenance fee. So consider if the benefits we offer are worth the costs you will incur.
